Mikayla Davic
My name is Mikayla Davic and I am currently in the 11th grade attending Baldwin High School in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I have always had the passion to write, act and sing. I am fortunate enough to be able to now share that passion with everyone and making dreams come true along the way.
My love for the stage began in second grade when I had the opportunity to be a munchkin in the Baldwin High School production of Wizard of Oz. In fourth grade, I had the opportunity to be in the High School production of Children of Eden. This led me to where I am today, writing original musicals to benefit those in need.
For my seventh grade gifted project, I wrote a musical and asked if I could bring it to the stage. We held that musical, “A Not So Magical Story,” in the fall of 2014. I decided at that time to pick a charity. I wanted to find one that helped all children no matter what illness they had. That is why I chose Make-A-Wish. We raised over $8,000 which was enough to send two families to Disney World. In January of 2016, I held my second musical entitled “Murder on 34th Street.” That musical brought us to over $17,000 total. Then in January of 2017, I produced my third musical, "Paradise," which raised about $14,000, bringing a total of over $31,000 to date. I have committed myself to raise $50,000 for Make-A-Wish by the time I graduate.
Upon completion of high school, I plan on following my dreams and passion on to college studying film, screenwriting and playwriting. I am hoping on attending either UCLA, USC or NYU.
